Sales director

by Mark Rowe

Mayflex, the Birmingham-based distributor of converged and IP products has appointed a new sales director.

Ian Davey, pictured, took up the role on January 4; he’s responsible for the development of strategic new business, development of sales, relationships with customers and vendors, and heads a team of external and internal senior team managers and field sales representatives.

Earlier, Ian worked at Ingram Micro for ten years as a Senior National Account Manager, then as Head of Sales and General Manger, and most recently as Sales Director with responsibility for over £800m of sales.

Andrew Percival, Mayflex Group Managing Director said: “The appointment of Ian follows a prolonged period of recruitment within Mayflex across all levels of the business, which has been necessary to continue initiatives for growth and ensuring our customers receive the levels of service they have become accustomed to. Ian has a wealth of experience, qualities and skills which are vital to assist Mayflex with the projected growth over the next financial year. Ian’s open, motivational, hands on approach to leadership and his extensive range of none sales related business management experience will make him a valuable addition to the board. Ian’s appointment will also allow me the time to focus on business wide strategic improvements from staff development, operational efficiencies, effectiveness of marketing campaigns, new business opportunities, and our international development. Exciting times for Mayflex across all areas of the group.”

Ian Davey said: “I am looking forward to getting to grips with this new role and am hoping to share my experience and knowledge with other members of the Mayflex team. I am proud to join Mayflex at such an exciting time in the company’s history and I look forward to contributing toward our continued success. Having an energetic and motivated team on-board who are committed to further accelerating the business is key when achieving our 2016 goals and beyond.”
