Upgrades for NVR series

by Mark Rowe

Milestone Systems, the Danish IP video management software (VMS) company, has upgraded its series of Milestone Husky network video recorders (NVRs). The video network appliances with Milestone video management software now offer increases in internal storage, the makers say.

The storage expansions mean the company says longer video retention and greater quality recordings, for example for casinos to achieve continuous high-resolution recordings. Storage on the Milestone Husky M10 goes up to 2TB (from 1TB); on the Husky M30, up to 12TB (from 4TB); and on
the Husky M50 – up to 48TB (from 24TB).

The Husky Hybrid Series of NVRs which lets users mix analogue and IP cameras, offers the following options:
double the storage on the Husky M30 Hybrid – up to 8TB (from 4TB); and on the storage on the Husky M50 Hybrid – up to 32TB (from 16TB).

Husky M30s or M50s can be set up with a master-slave configuration. Users can view video from all connected cameras on the networked Husky units by connecting to the master server. All Husky NVRs can also use Milestone Interconnect to connect remote sites to XProtect Corporate VMS for central command and control. This enables a site with a Husky NVR to be operated locally or remotely, which could be through a central control center or by a service provided from a Milestone Partner. The M30 and M50 models can be extended by integrating XProtect add-ons and third-party integrations, such as access control and video analytics.

Jay Shah, Global Business Development Director, Incubation and Ventures at Milestone Systems, said: “We recognised the shift in the market for integrated NVR solutions. Our Milestone partners and customers asked us for more storage with the Milestone Husky Series and we delivered. Now they can integrate and interconnect the NVRs in more demanding environments. This change can only open up new opportunities for our end users and our integrators.”
