by Mark Rowe

Ingersoll Rand has extended its exit hardware range with the Briton 581 Push Pad, designed for heavy door applications, the makers say.

The new Briton 581 Push Pad, which complements the 376 Push Pad, is able to provide single point locking. You can use Pullman latch kits to provide multi point locking.

According to the manufacturers the product is suitable for any door, especially areas of heavy traffic. The Push Pad is CE marked and fully certified to EN 179 – an emergency application for exit doors in a low occupancy area – and EN1634 fire tested for two hour timber fire doors and four hour steel fire doors.

Stuart Costigan, Technical Product Manager of Ingersoll Rand, said: “The new Briton 581 Push Pad forms part of our total door solution and offers, higher security, improved corrosion resistance and suitability for heavier doors.

“The easy to install Push Pad is not only aesthetically appealing but comes with a five year warranty so installers have the peace of mind that they can maintain the highest levels of security for their customers.”
