James and Emily Bradshaw ‘A Truly British Family’ who have embarked upon the challenge to only ‘Buy British’ for a year visited another British brand at the weekend, fencing company Jacksons Fencing based at Stowting, near Ashford.
The Westerham-based couple – who with their young son Lucan have enjoyed national media coverage (BBC Television, Daily Mail, Daily Express and Daily Star) for their campaign to raise awareness of British manufacturing – met Jacksons CEO Richard Jackson, pictured, and enjoyed a tour of the design and factory site at the 20 acre head office.
Jacksons will be helping the Bradshaws create a raised planting area for growing vegetables, using the company’s 25-year guaranteed timber. James and Emily reviewed the fencing, with a view to installing a smart new fence to the front of their property.
On the trip to Jacksons, James said: “I, like so many other people, had heard of Jacksons but had not appreciated the extensive range of products it manufactures. From residential timber fencing for the general public to incredibly sophisticated and ingenious high security fencing and access control products which are used in sensitive high security sites, Jacksons is a great example of British manufacturing at its best. Emily and I were impressed by the company’s total commitment to quality both in terms of its products, but also in relation to the standard of customer service it provides. It’s really good to know that a local family business which has been established in the UK since 1947, is now playing a part in flying the flag for British manufacturing overseas, exporting its products to a broad cross section of markets including Africa, France, Australia, Turkestan and Kazakhstan.”
