Phil retires

by Mark Rowe

An employee, Phil Burnell, at the TALL Security Print works at Runcorn, part of the TALL group of companies, is retiring from his role of Estimator / Paper Buyer after 26 years of service.

Phil joined TALL Security Print in 1995. He was initially employed as a Litho-Printer before applying for the position of Print Buyer and Estimator. Later he took on the role of Paper Buyer. Phil trained as a Litho-Printer after leaving school and has spent his career working within the printing industry.

He says: “It’s been a really big decision to retire from TALL Security Print. I’ve been part of the team for such a long time and it has been hugely satisfying meeting the specific demands that arise within the export business. The tight delivery schedules required for producing ballot papers can be daunting but the team at TALL have always risen to the challenge. I’ll miss the camaraderie and teamwork and wish them all lots of luck.”

In his retirement Phil plans to enjoy playing squash and snooker, watching sport (mostly his beloved Liverpool FC) and reading a good book.

Brian Carney, Commercial Director, at TALL Security Print said: “It is always difficult when someone leaves who has been part of the fabric of the company for so long. The support and friendship that Phil gave to all in the company will be sadly missed.”

And Martin Ruda, Group Managing Director of the TALL Group of Companies, said: “Phil is a well-respected and valued member of the team at TALL Security Print and will be very much missed by colleagues here in Runcorn and across the business. His work ethic and ability to meet deadlines under pressure ensured that we consistently surpassed our customers’ expectations. We wish him a long and happy retirement.”
