Emergency response contract

by Mark Rowe

Global Maritime, a provider of marine warranty, dynamic positioning and engineering services to the oil and gas sector, is using emergency response provider Northcott Global Solutions (NGS) for medical and security support and travel risk management for some 400 employees worldwide.

The service provided by NGS includes a travel tracking and risk management system plus access to the NGS smart phone app. That app provides employees with real-time travel alerts, check-in and SOS functions.

NGS provides 24-hour medical and security assistance via an operations centre based in London. The contractor will activate ‘first response’ emergency support within minutes to the actual incident location. NGS uses its base of local partners globally.

Dave Ritchie, HSEQ Manager at Global Maritime, said: “The safety and security of our people are integral to everything we do, and as a global company often operating in unfamiliar environments, it is crucial that our employees have all the back-up and support they need”. n these current times we are seeing a higher level of security threat, and the exposure is now global. With the help of NGS, we now have the ability to manage travel and security-related risks more effectively, track our employees wherever they travel, and respond to adverse situations.”

Ted Jones, a founder and CEO of Northcott Global Solutions, was interviewed in our December 2015 print issue.
