Demo unit

by Mark Rowe

Aico Ltd, the residential fire and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms company, has launched a third Mobile Training and Demonstration Unit. The product company has introduced online tracking for customers to locate their nearest unit.

The vans enable Aico to deliver Smoke and CO Alarm product training, plus its CPD accredited Expert Installer courses, to customers’ doors. Information boards on all Aico technologies, such as RadioLINK+ and AudioLINK data extraction technologies, and alarm ranges – with fully functional product attached – are installed within the units, and a virtual video tour of the company’s factory in Shannon, Ireland.

A dedicated Mobile Training & Demonstration Units web page – www.aico.co.uk/mobile-training-demo-unit – features a video about the units, a 360 degree tour of one of the vehicles, and the online tracker.

Aico Managing Director Neal Hooper said: “We’ve received such an incredible response to the Mobile Training and Demonstration Units that the decision was made to launch a third to meet customer demand. Aico is fully committed to customer training through our Expert Installer scheme, where we provide the information necessary to ensure successful domestic alarm specification and installation. To date we have trained over 16,500 Aico customers, both in our new fleet of Mobile Training & Demonstration Units and at our Centre of Excellence in Oswestry.”

Expert Installer is a modular training scheme created by Aico covering residential Smoke and CO Alarm standards and regulations, alarm system design and installation, and specific technologies. Expert Installer recently received CPD accreditation, making it the only domestic smoke alarm manufacturer to provide customers with CPD training free.
