Retailer Tesco sought security for their annual general meeting to ensure the event went without disruption.
The AGM in Birmingham in June had attracted much media attention and stringent security was felt to be essential. Legion Security brought together guards experienced in handling special events. The team was fully briefed on the day by the Tesco Security Director, and the contractor also provided radio procedure training to ensure communications between the security staff and management throughout the event. Duties on the day included securing the car park, providing reception duties and AGM registration.
Legionโs General Manager for the Southern Region, Kevin Naylor, and Regional Manager Alastair Munro managed the event, which passed without incident, and Legionโs newly appointed Operations Director Stephen Greenaway was in attendance on the day. Greenaway said: โThis was a clear demonstration of Legionโs capability to meet all the challenges of such a high profile special event. Our security staff performed their duties with complete professionalism on the day.โ Alan Brown, Tescoโs Group Security Director, added: โTesco required a professional approach to security at the companyโs AGM, ensuring shareholders were treated with courtesy, whilst at the same time preventing unauthorised entry. Legion Group delivered this in every respect.โ
