Cooper Security, the manufacturer of security equipment, has launched its new Scantronic i-on 16 residential security product to UK installers, distributors and media representatives. Professional Security MD Roy Cooper (no relation!?) was there, at Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey.
According to Cooper Security i-on 16 is a wireless system aimed at homeowners and small commercial property. The new system offers 16-zone versatility with 16 user-programmable codes plus compatibility with Scantronicโs 700-series 868 MHz narrowband peripherals for optimal customisation. What the company describes as a security industry first comes in the form of i-on 16โs telecoms-grade combiner/splitter for reduced RF dead spotting and increased range.
The makers add that the development of i-on 16 was led by designers, rather than technicians โ leading to benefits such as a customisable menu screen, pre-set configurations for fast set-up, integral panic alarm functionality and a specially developed keypad including an innovative new navigational key. The result, including installer-friendly set-up benefits, the keypad, display, and FastFormat or ContactID compatability, promises it is claimed new levels of protection, intuitive usability and value for users. And the prospect of reduced call-backs and a business proposition for installers.
Speaking at the launch, the first of four high-profile events scheduled for September 2008, Cooper Security MD Dave Lunn said: โAlong with our Touchpoint Partner Programme, i-on 16, and the other exciting new i-on products weโve got planned, we aqre committed to consolidate Cooper Securityโs market leadership. Added to our new state-of-the-art office, technical training and R&D facility, these launches are definitive proof that Cooper Security is committed to transforming the UK security market.โ
The other launch dates and venues: National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham, Sept 17; Manchester United FC, 24; and The Golf Lounge, Glasgow, 30.
Partner Programme
And as for that Touchpoint Partner Programme, according to Cooper Security it will transform how installers work.
The company says that Touchpoint is more than โjust another trade clubโ. With its silver, gold and platinum levels, the programme offers installers and distributors three distinct membership grades and telephone and Internet-based technical and commercial support. Installers who join at the silver entry level will be encouraged, through training at the Touchpoint Academy and the promise of increased service levels, to progress to higher membership levels.
A point of the Touchpoint Partner Programme will be a dedicated internet portal offering installers, distributors and media privileged one-stop access to resources with the click of a mouse button.
Speaking at the launch, Cooper Security MD Dave Lunn said: โThe Touchpoint Partner Programme offers massive benefits for UK installers. To demonstrate our commitment to them, we have launched a partnership programme that adds real value to the way we work together. With Touchpoint, the launch of the new Scantronic i-on 16 system, and our new state-of-the-art office, Touchpoint Academy and R&D facility, Cooper Security is taking the initiative to revolutionise UK security and maximise installersโ growth potential.โ
