CAD Technician – Innovative Security Systems Design

Our client, a leading specialist in electronic security systems, is seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join their expanding Commercial Team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and delivery of innovative security solutions for a diverse range of clients.
Position Overview
As a CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design process, working closely with the wider team to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality project documentation. Your expertise in CAD software and attention to detail will be instrumental in creating accurate specifications, Bill of Materials (BOM), and other key design documents.
Responsibilities

Manage and support deliverables throughout the design process, ensuring adherence to project timelines

Read, produce, and check specifications, Bill of Materials (BOM), and other key design documents

Use, create, and develop existing CAD system templates in collaboration with the wider team
-
Visit sites to enhance knowledge of real-life environments and installations, informing design decisions
-
Coordinate with the design team to meet project deadlines and revise documentation as needed

Maintain current and future certifications relevant to the role
Requirements

Autodesk Certified User level of experience or equivalent in CAD software
-
Proficiency in working with external references, dynamic blocks, and table/data import in CAD
-
Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Competent user of Microsoft Office

Basic understanding of network topology and knowledge of survey techniques and site survey data handling

Desirable: Experience with Access Control, Intruder Alarm, or IP CCTV systems and knowledge of security system architectures (e.g., C-CURE, Lenel/S2, Gallagher, Genetec, Honeywell)
