Consultancy (6โ9 months, extension likely)
We are recruiting an experienced Crisis Management & Business Continuity Specialist to lead the design, enhancement, and operationalisation of an integrated global Crisis Management and Business Continuity Management System (BCMS). Reporting to the Global Head of Compliance, Ethics & HSE, this role will materially uplift organisational resilience, assurance, and executive readiness across people, operations, and reputation.
This is a delivery-focused consultancy role with real authority and visibility.
To establish enterprise-level crisis governance, strengthen ISO 22301-aligned continuity capabilities, integrate corporate security risk management, and work closely with the Americas HSE team to enhance a global Travel Risk Safety programme aligned to ISO 31030.
Key Objectives
- Establish or refresh an enterprise-wide Crisis Management framework, governance, and escalation model
- Enhance and operationalise an ISO 22301-aligned BCMS covering critical functions and geographies
- Integrate corporate security risk management with crisis and continuity response
- Strengthen global Travel Risk Safety controls and processes (ISO 31030-aligned)
Scope of Work
- Crisis Management
- Assess current crisis governance, playbooks, and communications
- Design or refresh Crisis Management Policy, framework, and CMT structure
- Develop scenario-based playbooks (cyber, supply chain, civil unrest, severe weather, vendor failure, etc.)
- Business Continuity (ISO 22301)
- Conduct BIAs; define MTD, RTO, and recovery strategies
- Develop continuity plans, recovery options, and dependencies with IT/DR
- Build BCMS documentation, templates, test schedules, and audit evidence
- Corporate Security
- Assess security threats and define minimum control frameworks
- Align security incident response with crisis and continuity structures
- Support site security improvement plans and vendor oversight
- Travel Risk Safety (ISO 31030)
- Design or refresh travel risk policy, governance, and approval processes
- Integrate ISOS (or equivalent) for risk assessments, tracking, and response
- Build end-to-end travel risk workflows from pre-trip to post-incident review
- Training, Assurance & Handover
- Develop role-based training (CMT, site leads, travellers)
- Produce dashboards, metrics, and leadership reporting
- Prepare for audits; close findings
Skills & Experience
- In depth experience in Crisis Management, Business Continuity, or Corporate Security leadership
- Proven delivery of ISO 22301-aligned BCMS and crisis frameworks
- Demonstrable experience in global travel risk management and assistance providers (e.g. ISOS)
- Strong cross-functional engagement with Operations, HR, Legal, IT, and senior leadership
Preferred Certifications
- CBCI / MBCI, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer or Auditor
- ASIS CPP / PSP or equivalent security credentials
- ISO 31030 practitioner experience; ISO 31000 risk familiarity
- Crisis or emergency communications training
