Head of Projects – Enterprise Security Systems
Location: LondonSalary: £80,000–£85,000 + Car/Car Allowance + Paid TravelContract: Permanent, Full-Time
We are working with an established and growing enterprise security systems integrator to recruit an experienced Head of Projects to lead and develop its project delivery function across London.
This is a senior position combining project leadership, people management and hands-on project oversight. You will oversee the Project Management team, act as a senior escalation point for customers and take responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered commercially, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
The business delivers complex integrated security solutions across corporate, data centre, healthcare, public sector and other high-security environments, working with leading enterprise technologies across CCTV, access control and integrated security.
The Role
As Head of Projects, you will:
- Lead, support and develop a team of Project Managers, providing direction and ensuring consistent delivery standards.
- Maintain oversight of multiple complex security projects while continuing to take direct responsibility for selected key projects.
- Take accountability for project budgets, programmes, commercial performance and delivery.
- Act as a senior escalation point for customers, Project Managers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Review existing project processes and introduce greater structure, control and consistency across the department.
- Manage project risks, change control, reporting, RAID logs and commercial/project documentation.
- Oversee subcontractors and vendors, ensuring performance against cost, programme and quality requirements.
- Work closely with senior leadership, engineering, commissioning, CAD/document control and wider operational teams.
- Build strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders operating within complex corporate environments.
- Support the continued development and growth of the Projects function.
About You
We are looking for an established Head of Projects, Senior Project Manager or Project/Operations leader with a background in the electronic security industry.
Ideally, you will have:
- Strong experience delivering enterprise-level electronic security projects.
- Previous responsibility for leading, mentoring or overseeing Project Managers.
- Experience managing complex, high-value projects – ideally including programmes/projects exceeding £8m.
- Strong knowledge of integrated CCTV/VMS and Access Control systems within corporate or critical environments.
- Understanding of the wider IT, networking and M&E infrastructure associated with enterprise security deployments.
- Excellent commercial awareness, including budget, programme, change and contract management.
- Confidence managing demanding clients and multiple senior stakeholders.
- The ability to identify inefficient processes and implement practical improvements.
- Experience within environments such as data centres, corporate real estate, critical infrastructure, healthcare or public sector would be advantageous.
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to remain close enough to project delivery to understand issues and support the team effectively.
