Role: Managing Director
Location: National / UK-based
Salary: £95,000 per annum
Are you a senior leader ready to take full ownership of a specialist engineering services division? As Managing Director, you will hold full P&L responsibility and operate at board level, driving strategic growth, operational excellence and cultural alignment across multiple business streams. You will be working for a leading UK security technologies group with a strong national footprint and ambitious growth plans.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute divisional strategy aligned with wider group objectives
- Deliver sustainable, double-digit profit growth across all service lines
- Identify market opportunities, emerging technologies, and industry trends
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing senior leadership team
- Optimise operational processes and empower field delivery teams
- Take full P&L ownership, balancing commercial performance and cost control
- Manage direct labour and subcontractor delivery models
- Set commercial standards for bids, tender,s and contract delivery
- Drive expansion through strategic partnerships and new service offerings
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Ensure all reporting requirements and governance standards are met
- Uphold information security and compliance policies
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management or equivalent
- Minimum 7 years’ senior leadership experience within engineering environments, including 5+ years with P&L responsibility
- Strong knowledge of technical service-led environments (fire, security or related sectors desirable)
- Proven track record of delivering growth and improving profitability
- Strong financial acumen and strategic planning capability
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills
- Experience leading organisational change in high-growth or high-pressure environments
