With an in-house design and BIM capability, we are committed to providing efficient, high-quality mechanical engineering solutions.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our office-based team. The successful candidate will prepare accurate and competitive estimates and tenders for mechanical projects, directly contributing to the growth and success of our division.
Key Responsibilities

Review project enquiries, specifications, and engineering drawings to prepare full and accurate mechanical take-offs.

Compile detailed cost estimates including materials, labour, plant/equipment hire, subcontractor costs, preliminaries, and project-specific expenses.

Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and incorporate into tender submissions.

Produce comprehensive tender packages, cost breakdowns, and submittals.

Assess risk, health & safety, programme, and logistic requirements and factor into estimates.

Maintain and update cost databases, supplier pricing records, material rate libraries, and historical cost data.

Collaborate with design, project management, and commercial teams to ensure alignment on scope, deliverables, and profitability.

Participate in tender reviews, bid negotiations, and value-engineering initiatives as required.
About You
-
Previous experience in a mechanical estimating role, ideally within an MEP, building services, or contracting environment.

Proven ability to interpret mechanical/HVAC/MEP drawings and engineering specifications.

Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and analytical skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or estimating software.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Commercial awareness and ability to deliver competitive yet profitable bids under time pressures.
