Vertical Transportation Consultant
London | £55,000 + Package
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established consultancy seeking a Vertical Transportation Consultant to join its growing London team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong lift professional to utilise their industry expertise in a client-facing role, advising on the design, refurbishment, maintenance, and performance of vertical transportation systems across a diverse portfolio of projects.
The Role
As a Vertical Transportation Consultant, you’ll work closely with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, providing expert technical guidance throughout the lifecycle of lift and escalator projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting site surveys and assessments of vertical transportation systems.
- Producing detailed technical reports, specifications, and recommendations.
- Perform detailed site inspections and auditing activities on lift modernisation, replacement, maintenance, and new-build projects.
- Managing and monitoring project delivery to ensure successful outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, and project teams to develop effective and compliant solutions.
- Building strong client relationships and acting as a trusted technical advisor.
About You
You will have a strong background within the vertical transport industry and be confident working independently while managing multiple projects.
You’ll ideally possess:
- Extensive experience as a Lift Engineer, Lift Inspector or within lift maintenance contract management.
- Strong technical knowledge of lift and escalator systems.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- The ability to confidently engage with clients and lead technical discussions.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft 365.
- Experience working safely on-site and undertaking lone working when required.
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Degree qualification in an engineering discipline.
- EOR202 or equivalent industry experience is required with NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in Lift Engineering being advantageous.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SharePoint 365, and Elevate software.
- Previous consultancy experience within the vertical transportation sector.
