Site Manager – Mechanical & Electrical Building Services | Nationwide – current projects include Central London, Wales and Hampshire | £55,000–£60,000, depending on experience

The Role
An experienced Site Manager is required to oversee the successful delivery of mechanical and electrical projects across the UK.
This is primarily a site-based role requiring regular travel and stays away from home. Depending on experience, the position could also include some office-based project-management responsibilities from the company’s office.
You will coordinate site activities, manage directly employed labour and subcontractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required technical and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily delivery of mechanical and electrical works on site.
- Coordinate site teams, specialist subcontractors, suppliers and other trades.
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and project programmes.
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety across every site.
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and safety inspections.
- Ensure RAMS, permits and other relevant site documentation are in place.
- Monitor installation quality and address defects or non-conformances.
- Coordinate materials, equipment and labour in line with the programme.
- Attend site meetings and communicate with clients, consultants and principal contractors.
- Manage technical issues, delays and changes as they arise.
- Support testing, commissioning, snagging and project handover.
- Maintain accurate site records, reports and project documentation.
- Represent the business professionally in secure and sensitive environments.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a Site Manager, Mechanical Site Manager, Electrical Site Manager or M&E Site Manager.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical building-services installations.
- Experience delivering new-build, refurbishment or maintenance projects.
- Experience within government, defence, public-sector or secure environments would be advantageous.
- Proven ability to manage site labour and subcontractors.
- Good understanding of construction health and safety requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and programmes.
- Strong leadership, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Confident working with clients, contractors and internal project teams.
- Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home when required.
- Full UK driving licence.
Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must be eligible to complete BPSS screening and obtain SC security clearance. Any appointment will be subject to the necessary background and security checks.

- SMSTS
- Appropriate CSCS card
- First Aid at Work
- Relevant mechanical, electrical or building-services qualification
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
