Revit/CAD Technician – Security Systems
Location: Home Based
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £35,000 – £39,000 Basic

Our client, an established independent security systems integrator with over 40 years of experience, is seeking a skilled Revit/CAD Technician to join their team. You’ll play a key role in delivering security solutions for critical infrastructure, transport and public space projects across the UK and Ireland, working within a company that values integrity, innovation and exceptional service.
Position Overview
As a Revit/CAD Technician, you’ll produce technical drawings and BIM models for physical security systems across diverse high-profile projects. You’ll collaborate with project delivery teams, engineers and designers to create accurate layouts, schematics and plans, ensuring documentation meets industry standards. Your work will directly support the delivery of security solutions that protect people and infrastructure across the UK.
Responsibilities

Create layouts, schematics and plans for physical security systems
-
Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors and designers on blueprints and drawings
-
Update red line documentation to as-installed status with project teams
-
Model system architecture using Revit MEP software
-
Generate and manage BIM models to level 2 standards
-
Maintain and develop the BIM object library
-
Review CAD drawings and models with clients, adjusting as required
-
Produce plans, elevations, technical details and CCTV field of view visualisations
-
Follow complex instructions to create 2D surface and 3D solid drawings

Manage document control, drawing registers and coordination platforms
-
Work across Design, Sales, Procurement and wider business teams

Conduct occasional site visits and technical surveys with technical designers
Requirements
Essential:
-
Expert knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software
-
Experience with BIM to level 2 standards
-
Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Visio, Excel and Word (intermediate to advanced)

Experience using design tools such as JVSG
-
Sound knowledge of engineering design principles
-
Basic understanding of Electronic Security Systems
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-
Team player with attention to detail and flexible approach
-
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Desirable:
-
Ability to support compliance with SFG20 standards
-
Revit Certified Professional for Architecture Design
-
Relevant CAD or Engineering certifications (BCS, BTEC, City & Guilds)

Detailed understanding of the UK security industry
-
General understanding of Electrical Installations and Construction
-
UK driving licence
-
Verification of eligibility to live and work in the UK
