Security Systems Engineer (Installation & Service)

The role

Our client is looking for a Security Systems Engineer to join their well established team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a company that excels in security systems industry and is making a name for themselves both throughout the UK and Globally. We are looking for people that bring a happy disposition and a positive, energetic attitude to their work and work environment. The ideal candidate will be a customer-focused, problem-solving specialist who appreciates a challenge and thrives on accountability and being responsible for delivery excellence. The mission of the Security Systems Engineer is to ensure all system project installations, maintenance and service call outs are completed on schedule, and to both the clients and the company standards. The Security Systems Engineer facilitates successful delivery through the installation, testing, inspection, and commissioning process while maintaining and improving standards. Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of installations (either direct or through management of contractors).
  • Possibly involved in some Commissioning.
  • Project handover and documentation.
  • Call outs and completion of reports.
  • Opportunity to get involved with Maintenance and Servicing if you wish.
  • Technical support and troubleshooting.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented engineer.
  • Practical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate activities at multiple sites.
  • Time-management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • IT literacy, MS Office and ideally proficient in the use of work management applications.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of IP technology.
  • Good understanding of networking (e.g. Cisco, TCP/IP, routing, switching).
  • Project QA and close-out report writing.
  • A proven problem solver.
  • A can-do attitude with the ability to adapt to change quickly and efficiently.
  • Self-improvement, the ability, and aptitude to learn new systems.
  • Experienced at installing security systems with speed and accuracy.
  • The ability to review site plans and engineer notes and provide feedback and advice to colleagues, fit-out contractors and clients.
  • Willing to meet the company ethos of offering independent professional advice to the client.

Experience, Licences & Qualifications:

  • Previously worked in a security systems engineer role.
  • Demonstrated ability working with Access Control, CCTV, Intruder, Intercoms
  • Experience in any of the following systems is an advantage: Brivo, Openpath, S2, Lenel, C-Cure, Inner Range, 2N, Comelit, Axis, HikVision, Avigilon, Eagle Eye, Milestone, Galaxy, Texecom, Scantronic, Pyronix, Inner Range
  • Customer facing experience and able to complete multiple activities in the same day.
  • Experience in integrating multiple systems e.g. hardwire link access control and intruder alarm.
  • Familiar with installations to NSI standards.
  • Good understanding of IP networks and VLANS.
  • Full UK car driving license.

Important information

  • You will be expected to work a reasonable amount of paid overtime (Project delivery and commissioning can fall on a weekend and out of hours work infrequently)
  • The option to support the on-call rota and attend sites out of hours is there for overtime if you wish

Package

  • Up to £38K basic
  • Oyster card for travel within London or company vehicle (dependant on location)
  • £125 per week when on-call
