The London-based strategic intelligence and advisory firm Sibylline has been awarded the King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade. This comes after the company achieved 370 per cent growth in overseas sales over the past three years.
Justin Crump, CEO of Sibylline, is a former British Army tank commander with academic credentials from Kingโs College London and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and in 2015 the author of Corporate Security Intelligence and Strategic Decision Making (reviewed in Professional Security Magazine) and a commentator on geopolitical risk in international media.
Sibylline expanded its overseas sales from ยฃ8.1m in 2021, to ยฃ27.7m in 2023 and ยฃ38.1m in 2024. Some 85pc of total revenue was from overseas sales โ all through organic growth and reinvestment of profits and without any external investment. The firm points to a growing demand for actionable geopolitical analysis among global corporations.
Justin Crump, pictured, said: “As our clients navigate an increasingly volatile world, we are hugely proud to continue in our role as a trusted global intelligence partner to some of the world’s largest organisations. Over the past three years, we have seen seismic shifts globally, from the COVID-19 pandemic to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Our commitment to British values of integrity and to our mission of empowering organisations to manage risks and build resilience guided us throughout these time periods.
“One such example was the removal of paywalls for life-critical intelligence, ensuring organisations responsible for safety and security had access to vital information regardless of financial constraints.”
Now employing nearly 500 people, the consultancy serves over 10pc of the Fortune 500 and 11pc of the FTSE100; and is maintaining a client retention rate exceeding 95pc. Sibylline has regional hubs in Singapore, Washington DC, Brazil, and Ireland.
Crump added: “We have a robust export strategy built on a strong foundation of expertise in global affairs and on the quality of our team. Although we serve clients from all over the world, we are especially cognisant of the advantages of our London origins, which offers huge advantages for global affairs due to an ideal time zone, cultural understanding, available talent, and the reputation of the City.”
The firm, founded in 2010, launched ASTRA in 2016, a โlivingโ world risks database that ranks locations globally based on seven risk categories, and launched an Embedded Services capability in 2017 to provide on-site personnel to clients. Sibylline plans further geographic expansion in 2025 with regional subsidiaries in India and Australia. Visit www.Sibylline.co.uk.
