Final nominations for the second Action Against Business Crime (AABC) Partnership Excellence Awards close on January 15.
The awards mark those business crime reduction partnerships that have made a significant contribution towards reducing crime and anti-social behaviour in towns, cities and shopping centres.
There are more than 200 business crime reduction partnerships around the country, AABC reports, working to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour through innovation, establishing relationships with a variety of agencies, including police, local authorities and social groups.
What they say
AABC Chief Executive Mike Schuck said: "The number of Business Crime Reduction Partnerships has grown impressively in the past two years and all have instituted a number of practical measures to make the shopping experience safer and more enjoyable for the public. These awards are designed to recognise the achievements of these partnerships and highlight the excellent work they are doing to promote safer communities. I encourage all partnerships to nominate for this prestigious award."
Nominations are sought in three categories, as last year: promoting community safety; managing the evening economy; and partnership innovation. Winners will be announced at the AABC Annual Conference on February 22, and feature like last year in the April edition of Professional Security.
