Auto Tracking Dome

by msecadm4921

Hikvision has released an auto tracking high-speed analogue dome, the the iDS-2AF1-517-B….

An auto tracking feature means the camera can recognise unusual objects in a scene that are consistent with an intruder, or abnormal activity such as entry or exit and loitering, and adjust its current pre-defined patrol or pattern to track the object. When the dome is not in intelligent tracking mode, users can use PTZ settings and can pre-define configuration for auto-patrol, pattern or park action with 256 pre-sets and eight patrols. This camera can restore PTZ and lens status after reboot. If a temporary power outage occurs, the dome’s intelligent memory function during reboot means that instead of returning to the home position (and staying inactive) as the makers say many competitive offerings do, this dome will revert to its exact tour number or pre-set prior to the loss of power and continue its patrol. The manufacturers say applications include airports, prison exteriors, railway lines, harbours, river fronts and residential communities, with the auto tracking particularly of use for perimeters.

Flexible optical performance means the camera can meet current demands for versatile functions in complex environments. With cost efficiency being a consideration, the dome’s auto tracking capability allows users to reduce their wage bill for manned guarding, and return on investment (ROI) in these Hikvision cameras is almost immediate, the company says.

Features such as 3D digital noise reduction and 128x WDR mean the dome can deliver image quality, allowing users to see clearly in almost any monitoring location including those with difficult lighting such as extensive shadow, glare and reflection. The 36x optical zoom and 12x digital zoom allow detailed monitoring and enable facial and licence plate recognition.

Programmable privacy masking means the camera meets demands for socially responsible use of CCTV and respecting of sensitive privacy zones. Users can create 24 privacy mask zones with a maximum of eight zones simultaneously on the same video screen. Operating conditions in environmentally demanding locations can be checked with the camera’s built-in sensor which displays internal temperature.

The iDS-2AF1-517-B uses a quarter-inch SONY EXVIEW HAD progressive scan CCD and is available for both PAL and NTSC. Day-night usage is achieved with an IR cut filter and minimum illumination is [email protected] (color) or [email protected] (B&W). Shutter speed range is 1/3-1/10,000s.
