It’s described as a stand-alone, portable device containing a PIR (passive infra-red) sensor to detect an intruder up to 10m away. As soon as an intruder is detected the unit phones up to four designated phone numbers. Originally designed for the rural market, this device has the makers say other uses as it can be positioned anywhere where a mobile phone network is available. It’s claimed the product could reduce the need for multiple patrol units and guards, as well as securing specific access points.
