CCTV Date

The next Global MSC Security seminar and exhibition is being held with Safer South Gloucestershire and Safer Bristol and is aimed at CCTV and security managers. The subject: “The Freedom Bill – How It Will Affect CCTV and Its Regulation”.

This event is being staged at the Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel in Bristol between 9am and 4.30pm on Tuesday, March 8, with a complimentary buffet lunch.

When the Coalition Government announced it would “further regulate CCTV”, there was anticipation and some nerves across the industry. The intention is that the proposals will be included in the Freedom Bill, due to be issued in January 2011. Add to this the proposals around the Security Industry Authority, and the impact of the Comprehensive Spending Review will have on local authorities and policing, there are say organisers now real concerns about what, if any, regulation is likely to be imposed on the CCTV industry. If the Government does maintain the plan to regulate CCTV and to use the Freedom Bill, this conference will be a first opportunity to discuss the impact.

Speaker confirmed so far include:

Chris Brogan – The Security Institute; consultant.
Dr Peter Fussey – University of Essex
Mike Tennant – Tavcom Training
Ian Cook – Sicura Systems
Giles Miskin – Colourworks
Bob Groom – Videotec S.P.A
Vince Bessell – Raytec
Dieter Kondek – Pivot 3
Mick Harrison – Kent Police
Indy Kler – IqinVision
Lisa Town – COE
Steve McCullen – Stryker Communications

During the day on March 7 will run an indoor Go Karting championship at a centre close to the Bristol Marriott Royal. The cost to participate in this event is subsidised for delegates at £10 per person. Book early to avoid disappointment say organisers.

Also planned, a West Country themed private dinner at the Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel on the evening of March 7, to allow delegates to meet with exhibitors in a relaxed atmosphere before the more formal presentations the following day. Throughout the evening there will be fundraising events to raise funds for the charity, Victim Support and there will be prizes donated by NVT, Rapidvu, Norbain, COE and Marriott Hotels.

To register for the event, download a delegate booking form on the consultancy website or email [email protected]
