CCTV, KFC

by msecadm4921

Fast food outlets open long hours, including late at night, have issues of staff safety, security and threats from customers.

The latest, three-storey, branch of Kentucky Fried Chicken opened in King Street in the centre of Sheffield with a CCTV system by local Sony SAIF installation company Camwatch, working for the KFC franchisee. Sixteen Sony anti-vandal colour dome cameras have been installed throughout the 6000sq ft building, mainly monitoring all access points and the restaurant, plus staff rest rooms and the main kitchen. The system is linked back to the main Camwatch central monitoring station for 24-7 surveillance, using a Controlware -VAS 2800 video alarm system. The outlet also has full intruder alarm coverage and duplex audio facilities that can be used by staff at the Camwatch monitoring centre in the event of an incident within the restaurant. According to Phil Bunting from Camwatch: ?The system installed at KFC is ideal for this type of outlet and reduces the amount of false alarms and also the number of unnecessary and time consuming call outs during out of hours periods. The franchisee estimates that the throughput of customers will be in the region of 3,000 people per week, making it paramount that the CCTV is as effective as possible to cover all aspects of security, staff and customer safety.?
