CHAS, ACS Approvals

by msecadm4921

UK security and crowd management contract company, AP Security, has gained approved contractor status from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and the Contactors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS).

The approvals follow updating of the company’s admin processes for both door supervisors and manned guarding. It takes in AP’s work towards ISO 9001:2008 and OHSAS 18001 accreditation and a number of other British standards. Roles have been redefined across the company, putting a heavier emphasis on planning and client liaison. Andrew Stevens, AP’s General Manager, says: “Our watchword is ‘Quality’, and that runs through every part of the company, with particular importance placed on staff training, and Human Resourcing in general.”

The firm adds that both SIA and CHAS approval demonstrate that AP’s systems have been audited by both bodies, are recognition of the company’s efforts and give existing and potential clients assurance that the AP is committed to customer service and licensing of staff (in the case of SIA), as well as Health and Safety (CHAS). “We are delighted to have gained both these accreditations,” adds Managing Director Trevor Bence. “Our aim is to provide the very best across all the security services we provide, from event security through to manned guarding. This is demonstrable proof that we are achieving just that.”
