Digital Recording Added

Philips CSI has added digital recording to its REO colour CCTV system.

Philips CSI has added digital recording to its REO colour CCTV system. The system handles up to eight cameras with the company?s DVR1 digital recorder and with networking and remote viewing if required. To network, connect the DVR1 to a networked PC or over the internet. REO?s built-in video motion dtection allows alarm and event recording without the need for external alarm inputs or sensors, the makers report. Remote viewer software allows access to live and recorded video, without interrupting recording, on a PC over over a network. A graphical display shows recorded video and alarms. An operator can capture video and snapshots on the PC that can be faxed for example to the police or other retailers, to warn of known offenders. The manufacturers offer a range of digital recorders with hard disk storage from 40 to 160GB. Using a typical time-lapse recording mode of 10 images per second, Philips say, this provides up to a week?s recording on hard disk. Users can select recording speeds of from one to 25 ips.
