Five Crash Test

by msecadm4921

TV channel Five’s regular car show, Fifth Gear, televised on October 31 the crash test of a security product.

The broadcasters propelled a laden 7.5 tonne truck into a ATG Access SP1000 rising bollard at 50mph. The results were spectacular, the product manufacturers report, with the truck being stopped dead in its tracks and the bollard continuing to work.

Unrelated to the test, the same autumn week, the SP1000 was nominated for Product of The Year at the Builder & Engineer awards held at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester. The ATG Access bollard took an award.

Meanwhile, the firm adds, at the other end of the East Lancashire Road the bollards were being installed as part of the Paradise Street development in Liverpool.
