Hajj Fraud Advice

by msecadm4921

Police are joining forces with the Muslim community to stop fraudsters who steal thousands of pounds from pilgrims travelling to Mecca.

Partners in the Muslim community and travel industry are working with the City of London Police, and National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) to tackle this threat.

A leaflet has been produced, by the City of London Police, which has details on how to report Hajj fraud. It also gives advice on how to limit your chances of becoming a victim, and facts about Hajj fraud.

View ‘Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca – essential information about fraud’ leaflet. It urges people travelling to Mecca to:

* Make sure your travel agent/tour operator is ATOL (Air Travel Organisers’ Licensing) protected.
* Check that your travel agent/tour operator is accredited by the Saudi Embassy.
* Check exactly what you are paying for.
* Get everything in writing.
