Stanley Security Solutions has equipped four hotels in the south of England with new internal staff communication systems as part of its rolling contract to supply the Millennium & Copthorne Hotel Group.
The new hotels recently completed in Slough, Reading, Mayfair and Gatwick have seen Stanley install its DECT cordless telephone system, interfaced, where necessary, with other security features to allow real-time staff communication. The DECT system allows hotel managers to keep in contact with key staff, including house-keeping and maintenance teams, wherever they are in the hotel. It also allows access to essential information and ensures the hotel is more responsive to its customers’ needs, it is claimed.
Alarms integrated
As with several previous Millennium and Copthorne Hotel sites in the roll-out programme, this solution is also fully integrated to fire panels and fire alarm systems and to panic buttons in health club and swimming pool areas so guests can call for assistance if required. Lone worker protection is also an issue for large hotels, particularly at night when the staff and guest ratio is greatly reduced, and so the system is also integrated with personal panic alarms, carried for example by room service or maids. Besides offering these communication systems as standard throughout the hotels, Stanley is also able to add-on bespoke security options, so, for example, at some of the hotels the DECT system can be interfaced with door alarms or with boiler alarms to alert to any maintenance problems.
What they say
The hotel group’s Area General Manager (South) Philip Bell, who was responsible for the latest hotels in the south of England said: “The security communications roll-out with Stanley began several years ago and in some cases we are now on our second and third generation upgrades in several hotels as well as specifying Stanley for all our new hotels. The systems have proved highly efficient and effective and continue to offer increased levels of security feature integration.”
