SICURTECH Expo 2008, an international exhibition runs from November 25 to 28 in Milan.
Organisers report that the show is dedicated to fire-fighting, health and safety at work and to civil defence. The venue is the new Fieramilano centre, in Lombardy, a region that has recently approved a plan to reduce by 15pc the number of accident victims by the year 2010.
SICURTECH Expo 2008 has obtained patronage from ESF (the European Safety Federation), which will hold its AGM at the exhibition. ESF is also one of the organisers of the first International Conference on Personal Protection Equipment, to run in Bruges from May 21 to 23.
Further backing for SICURTECH Expo 2008 has been received from ISPESL โ The National Institute for Health and Safety at Work, the Italian focal point of the European Agency for Health and Safety at work (OSHA) information network and Federchimica, the Italian federation of chemical industries, which will also organise two seminars within the context of the exhibition.
The expo will be hosting training workshops with demonstration events dedicated to the use of personal protection equipment. For this year, the workshops will also focus on the importance of behavioural science in the reduction of accidents at work, also known as BBS (Behaviour Based Safety). And seminars are planned in collaboration with representatives from associations, industry, institutions and academia.
