Crime prevention specialist Norman Gibson has agreed to speak at the first Security Institute networking evening in Belfast on Monday, November 10, at La Mon Hotel, Belfast. He was interviewed in the July print issue of Professional Security Magazine.
His talk "From Persecution to Prevention" will take listeners from career criminals, to understanding crime prevention, the impact and range of crime prevention projects, considering applied standards and Crime Prevention through Environmental Design, relating this to his work. And all in 30 minutes!
David Gill, Security Institute Vice-Chairman and Patricia Knight, Events Committee Chairman, will also be on hand to answer questions about Security Institute plans for 2009.
The institute is there because Di Thomas, institute general manager, is among those exhibiting at the Skills for Security Conference in Belfast the next day (see http://www.events.skillsforsecurity.org.uk/venues.asp?CID=3 alongside the conference, as she is at the SfS conference in Oxfordshire on November 4.
