Race For Life

by msecadm4921

Ladies from Mayflex, the cabling infrastructure, networking and IP physical security solutions distributor, joined thousands of other women across the UK, by taking part in the ‘Race for Life’. Their venue was Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham, on Thursday, June 26.

‘Race for Life’ is Cancer Research UK’s flagship event that has grown to become the UK’s largest ‘women-only’ fundraiser. In 2007, the organisation brought together 665,000 women to walk, jog or run the 5km event in order to raise £40 million pounds for Cancer Research UK. On a wet and soggy evening, 22 ladies from Mayflex braved the weather and walked this year’s event, managing to raise £4,500 in sponsorship.

Tracey Calcutt, Marketing Manager at Mayflex, who also took part in this year’s event, says: "Many of the women who take part have their own private story to tell and this is their inspiration for being there. It’s a wonderful experience to part of something that has become so incredibly popular."

Robert Mayall, Chairman at Mayflex adds: "With a subject that is close to many of our hearts, I am very proud that our ladies at Mayflex were able to support such a worthwhile cause."
