Ian Hutcheson, Director of Security at airport owners BAA is among the invited speakers at the RUSI conference, Border Security 2011: Securing passengers and cargo across the UKโs border, on March 30.
Organisers at the Whitehall-based think-tank say that the Governmentโs Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR) outlined significant changes for security at the UKโs border, and for the passengers and cargo which travel across it. Bringing together figures from across government and industry this event will examine the introduction of new technologies, the creation of a border police command, the strengthening of the UKโs visa process and the e-borders programme. Further, it will look to regulatory changes around passenger and cargo security, and explore plans for passenger screening and border controls to become more integrated.
