Ian Hutcheson, Director of Security at airport owners BAA is among the invited speakers at the RUSI conference, Border Security 2011: Securing passengers and cargo across the UK’s border, on March 30.
Organisers at the Whitehall-based think-tank say that the Government’s Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR) outlined significant changes for security at the UK’s border, and for the passengers and cargo which travel across it. Bringing together figures from across government and industry this event will examine the introduction of new technologies, the creation of a border police command, the strengthening of the UK’s visa process and the e-borders programme. Further, it will look to regulatory changes around passenger and cargo security, and explore plans for passenger screening and border controls to become more integrated.
