Since 9-11 corporations worldwide have had to reflect upon capability, resilience and ability to perform primary business functions. So report trainers Training for Success (TfS).
How would your organisation have responded to the Buncefield oil refinery explosions? Is there enough resilience to deal with a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, or Nuclear (CBRN) terrorist attack? Do you have the capability to deal with on-site protestors, supply chain disruption or an aircraft crashing into a nearby housing estate?
The lessons learned from the London 7-7 bombings and other critical incidents are that organisations can often be overwhelmed in responding to these types of incidents. A further weakness is often the inability of the different responder organisations to work together.
The defining feature of these types of incidents is their complexity. To make sense of this issue and to rehearse how well your organisation is prepared to deal with incidents of this nature, TfS has developed a critical incident management workshop that will test resilience within a multi-agency environment.
The delivery team includes John Jones, Director, Centre for Critical Event Learning and Leadership at The Institute of Criminal Justice Studies, The University of Portsmouth, Ian Kirke (Managing Director of Training For Success and an experienced Bronze Commander) and Mervyn Edwards (Training For Success and experienced Silver Commander, having commanded a number of high profile national events, including the policing of the Newbury bypass).
