CCTV: A Guide to Good Practice is the title of The Security Institute’s one-day workshop on November 16 in London.
Questions include: what do you expect of a CCTV system? How to buy effectively, and how best to train staff? It’s based on the institute’s Best Practice Guide, published by the Institute earlier in 2006. Attenders will be able to meet the authors of the guide – Gordon Tyerman, Alistair Freeborn, Don Grimes, Chris Brogan, Emma Shaw and Derek Webster – and discuss their individual requirements. They will get a complimentary copy of the book to take away. TSI adds that the event is non-technical, suitable for anyone needing to have a good understanding of using CCTV, physical security or facility managers, and guard supervisors. The day at The Victory Club, Seymour Street, covers risk assessments; operational requirements; whether to go for consultants or stay in-house; placing a contract; management and operations; control room design and management; legal requirements; using and covert CCTV.
