Canon network cameras protect official home of Turkey’s Parliamentary Speaker

by msecadm4921

Canon network cameras have been installed at the official residence of the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament as part of a surveillance upgrade. 20 Canon VB-C60 and VB-C500D cameras will monitor the outdoor area surrounding the historic building.

Canon cameras were chosen by local security experts Fides Technology and Security Systems Ltd to meet the brief for outstanding performance in all light conditions, from intense sunlight during the day to street lighting at night. The VB-C60, which includes an advanced Canon lens with 40x zoom, has Auto Day/Night switching making it possible to capture full colour images as low as 0.7 lux – or 0.2 lux in monochrome Night Mode.

Canon’s VB-C500D includes Smart Shade Control to correct for situations when a subject is in shadow due to very bright light, by adjusting the contrast of the dark areas of the image, whilst maintaining the brightness of the lighter areas. In dark conditions the VB-C500D automatically changes from colour video to monochrome to increase sensitivity and provide a clearer view.

Used with vandal-resistant and weatherproof housing from a 3rd party supplier, the cameras also ensure uninterrupted monitoring even in extreme high and low temperatures.

Murat Hayri, Sales Manager from Fides Technology Ltd said: “We chose Canon cameras because they deliver outstanding image quality. This is an important and high risk site, very close to the house of the President and Prime Minister, and adjacent to the Japanese Ambassador – it’s essential that video surveillance is detailed and crisp 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”
