Prize essay

by Mark Rowe

What is the Islamic State? How is it different from Al-Qaeda? That was the title of a winning essay in a competition by the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals‘ Charitable Trust. Each year it awards a prize to a student attending the MA Course in Terrorism, Security and Society at the Department of War Studies, Kings College, London. The 2017 winner is Elliot McArdle.

The prize was given by the Company’s new Master, Air Commodore Stephen Anderton, at his installation lunch in June, sponsored by Knightsbridge Guarding.
