Smash and grab course

by Mark Rowe

This autumn sees the launch of StoneHawk, a security training company for the jewellery, watch, pawnbroking, Asian gold and high-end retail sectors. The business has been established by Simon Wilson, who has previously served with the Metropolitan Police. The ‘smash and grab’ training is delivered by director Rob Henderson, who has a military and London security background; and further supported by Paul Campbell, the Managing Director of Probe Concierge & Security Services based in Liverpool.

Available nationally, the four-hour course is delivered at a client’s showroom or dedicated training location and aims to minimise on business downtime, staff abstraction and travel costs, while being available to everyone. The training has been designed with the assistance and support from the police, sector relevant intelligence networks, insurance brokers, and membership associations. The aim; raising awareness on how to avoid becoming a victim, and if a smash and grab happens, how to react; besides preserving the scene to support a police investigation. The course is designed to reduce the loss of stock, minimise the risk of injury, address the trauma associated with this crime, minimise on staff abstraction and to reduce such business crime.

Simon Wilson says: “Staff are the key asset for any business – but is your team equipped to cope if a security situation threatens their safety on your premises?”
