Anti-counterfeit product
Brink’s, the US-based security contractor, has purchased from Applied DNA Sciences a unique SigNature DNA mark capable of deployment by Brink’s in various worldwide operations.
The first Brink’s SigNature DNA application will use the unique Brink’s mark to protect cash and high-value items using a security tape for loss prevention purposes. Materials and support for the application will also come from The Label Printers, a custom label and packaging corporation.
SigNature DNA marks may be used in applications such as APDN’s DNA Fog product, designed to repel and identify intruders into large areas such as warehouses, as well as evidentiary marking on individual items such as jewellry, protection of ATMs, and cash transport.
Based in Richmond, Virginia, Brink’s offers security-related services for banks, financial institutions, retailers, government agencies, mints and jewellers. Richard Schurtleff, Brink’s Senior Vice President for Global Security, said: “We believe Applied DNA Sciences technology provides great value and a key differentiator for our product lines. We look forward to exploring integration of the technology into our security applications worldwide.”
Lori Campbell, The Label Printers, said: “We believe the collaboration between The Label Printers, Brink’s, and Applied DNA Sciences has enormous potential for the security industry. We are excited to be a part of it.”
And Larry McIntosh, Director of Sales, Electronics, APDN said: “We look forward to a lasting and mutually profitable partnership with Brink’s on unique and important security applications such as this one.”
