Samsung Techwin Europe’s SmartCam range and CCTV All-in-One Kits will now be available at Dixons, the UK high street consumer electronics retailer.
The 96 Dixons stores across the UK feature a ‘Play Table’ where customers can demo the features of the SmartCams. These placements will be in addition to 140 stores with a dedicated bay selling SmartCams and CCTV All-In-One kits. The SmartCam range is Samsung Techwin’s network cameras for home and business use. Dixons will also stock the two latest additions to the range, the SmartCam HD (SNH-E6411BN) and the SmartCam HD Outdoor (SNH-E6440BN). The two cameras join the flagship model the SmartCam HD Pro (SNH-P6410BN, pictured) and the SmartCam (SNH-1011NV). Dixons will also stock three CCTV All-In-One Kits, the SDS-P3022 and SDS-P3042, both four channel 960H DVR security systems, as well as the SDH-P4041 a 1080p HDTV, eight channel hybrid DVR system.
You set up the cameras using the home Wi-Fi network; it takes less than a couple of minutes, the makers claim, without the need for a CD or software installations. The accompanying SmartCam mobile app, available on iOS and Android, allows users to log in and view live video from any location using their phones or tablets. Mac and PC users can also view live video through a dedicated web portal. Notification settings such as motion and audio detection sensitivity can be calibrated from a smartphone or the web portal.
With Full HD capabilities, night vision, digital pan-tilt and expandable SD memory across all devices, the cameras’ uses are said to extend beyond home security – pet owners can monitor their pet’s daily routine or families with young children can use the products as a mobile baby monitor.
