Access Control

SALTO at IFSEC 2016

by Mark Rowe

SALTO is presenting at IFSEC 2016 – on stand G1400 – a new range of access control products and technologies.

JustIN brings, the access control product company says, real-life and flexibility to access control and makes it easy and secure to use smartphones as a part of your access control, using SALTO’s internally developed JustIN apps.

SALTO’S JustIN Mobile Key app allows users to use their BLE-enabled smartphone to receive their keys online, any time and anywhere, and then access doors with their phone. An alternative is JustIN mSVN (mobile SALTO Virtual Network) that permits extending or changing access rights instantly and remotely Over The Air (OTA) using SALTO’s mSVN app for NFC- enabled phones.

New ProAccess SPACE software is designed to build on the SALTO ProAccess and HAMS family, and is a web-based software with an SQL database engine embedded inside. SPACE’s modular design has customer-specific activation codes at its centre, letting users choose and pay for just the features and functions they need now, with the flexibility to upgrade accordingly as their needs grow.

Because it has a web-based interface, it means the system can be managed or operated from different workstations simultaneously without risk of database corruption. No need to install the software in all operator PCs, but rather install SALTO ProAccess SPACE Service in one server or computer, then give access to other authorised computers inside the network. SPACE works with Microsoft Explorer, Safari, and Firefox and can be used with Windows tablets.

Joining these products will be a new range of wall readers and control units, which work with ProAccess SPACE. The new wall readers follow the design aesthetics of the company’s latest products, and are part of the XS4 2.0 product range, while the new CU4000 control unit provides users with the ability to control up to 10 doors with just a single IP point. SALTO on their stand are offering live demos.
