ASC meet

by msecadm4921

The next ASC (Association of Security Consultants) Business Group will run on April 25 at the usual central London venue – the Middle East Association, Bury House, 33 Bury Street, St James’s, SW1Y 6AX. The ASC writes –

The underpinning aim of our Business Group events is to share knowledge and experience on matters of interest and reinforce business relationships amongst the professional community – in a friendly and convivial setting. The event has now been finalised and promises to be informative under a banner heading ‘Signalling Changes in 2012’.

The programme will follow a theme of technological innovation and development in the signalling arena towards ensuring competitive business advantage for both end-user customers and specialist providers whilst maintaining the professionalism of the security industry.

Simon Banks, co-founder and Commercial Director of CSL DualCom, will lead the presentation which, by illustration of CSL DualCom’s partnership with one of the world’s largest brands and data providers, Vodafone, will explore how end-to-end data management can offer more expansive, reliable, effective and efficient installations both now and in the future. This will involve a tour of current mobile network communications GSM/GPRS developments and the newer technologies such as 4G – fourth generation mobile networks and how this progress relates to the security sector’s future diversification into complementary M2M sectors in addition to their standard security business.

Simon will also take a look at IP signalling and its uses both positively and critically, and illustrating CSL DualCom’s unique UDL/Remote service capabilities both wired and wireless. The drive for more reliable signalling will be explored with illustrations of CSL DualCom’s award winning technology and how it can reduce line fault false alarms, reducing wasted time on site and associated unnecessary expense for the entire signalling chain.

The importance of Intelligent Networks will be reviewed, and illustration of how a recently developed management interface system enables problems to be pre-empted, and provides a bank of knowledge for installers.

Jim Lovett from Pyronix Ltd will talk about how the industry is shifting towards wireless technologies as well as discussing how communications for both Alarm Receiving Centres and Remote Access are developing and becoming ever more integrated. Simon will also announce this year’s plans for the Apprenticeship initiative ‘100 in 100’ which last year aimed to place 100 apprentices into jobs in the industry in as many days.
