Engineers of Tomorrow hailed

Some NSI approved companies from around the UK were among the winners and finalists at the 2018 Security & Fire Excellence Awards, at the London Hilton Park Lane on November 21. About 1000 representatives from the security and fire sectors attended the annual evening, hosted by actor James Nesbitt. Organisations, teams and individuals within the security and fire sectors were recognised.

The National Security Inspectorate (NSI) has congratulated the 30 NSI approved company finalists who were honoured. Winners in their categories were these NSI approved companies and their teams:

Active/Passive Fire Project of the Year: Marlow Fire & Security
Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year: Glevum Security
Large Security Installer of the Year: Universal Security Systems
Medium Security Installer of the Year: Taylor Technology Systems
Small Security Installer of the Year: Lifeline Alarms & Security Services
Security Manager of the Year: Sarah Watts of Wilson James

NSI is a founding stakeholder of the Engineers of Tomorrow competition and the overall winners from the competition, run at the IFSEC show in June, were presented with their prizes on the night.

Intruder competition:

First place: Max Florey and Josh Dunn from Chris Lewis Fire & Security
Second: Sam Howard and Jamie Rodd from EFT Systems Ltd
Third: Andy Tham and Steven Flannigan from New College Lanarkshire.

Fire competition (new in 2018):

First: Sam Howard and Jamie Rodd from EFT Systems Ltd
Second: Aaron Wilson and Stuart McCluskie from New College Lanarkshire.
