Dahua Technology‘s ePoE network video recorder model NVR5224-24P-4KS2 won the 2017 Security Best New Product Award in Australia during the recent annual ASIAL exhibition in Sydney, by the Australian trade association.

The “2017 Security Best New Products Awards”, sponsored by Sony, are open to products new in the Australian market in the last 12 months. Products were judged on originality, impact of innovation, measurability of benefits, and applicability to the Australian market by a panel of judges, including General Manager of ASIAL (Australian Security Industry Association Limited), John Fleming; and Editor of Security Solutions Magazine, John Bigelow.

There were 50 entries. Dahua describes its NVR5224-24P-4KS2 as a 24-channel NVR that’s capable of transmitting over cable distances of up to 800m between the camera and NVR. The makers describe this as a huge increase in distance when compared to the current 100m limitation that traditional IP networks have.

A gala dinner hosted the product awards. Runner up awards went to Avigilon and Amaryllo International. Among those speaking at the conference beside the exhibition from July 26 to 28 were Danny Baade, Head of Security at Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation; Neil Campbell, Director of Global Security Solutions at the Australian telecoms firm Telstra; Assistant Commissioner Mark Murdoch, Commander Counter Terrorism & Special Tactics at NSW Police; and Shara Evans, Founder at Market Clarity.
