Members of the British Security Industry Association’s Export Council have given an preview of what visitors can expect to see at this year’s Moscow International Protection, Security and Fire Safety (MIPS) exhibition, which runs at Moscow’s Expocentre this week (April 24 to 27).

An industry event for eastern Europe and Russia, MIPS brings together security companies looking to reach out to buyers interested in CCTV, IT security and industrial health and safety.

As a trade association representing the UK’s private security industry, the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and its dedicated Export Council seek t play a role in forging trade links between UK security companies and overseas buyers from around the world. This year’s MIPS event is no exception, with the BSIA’s Chief Executive, James Kelly, and association members on hand to provide advice and guidance on the products and services that the UK has to offer.

“With UK security exports growing steadily year-on-year, creating and maintaining links with overseas buyers and distributors is essential to our industry,” says Caroline Strickley, Export Services Executive at the BSIA. “MIPS is a key date in our calendar, providing an opportunity for our members to engage with these audiences and position the UK as a leading force in global security provision.”

Respondents to a recent survey of BSIA Export Council members reported that business in Russia has increased over the recent 12 months, with technological innovation the primary driver for buying decisions in the region.

On that subject, Tristram Young, Marketing Manager at BSIA member company, Pyronix, gives an overview of what visitors can expect from the show: “Pyronix is leading the way with intruder alarm innovations with the launch of the Enforcer, our new two way wireless alarm system and the XD10TTAM, our first high security outdoor detector. Through the support of the BSIA’s Export Council, the 18th edition of the extremely popular MIPS exhibition in Moscow provides us with a great opportunity to showcase not only these new product innovations but our complete range of superior quality of security products to the global market.”

Buyers from the region who are interested in exploring the benefits of working with a UK security company can find out more by downloading the BSIA’s ‘Why Buy British’ document from http://www.bsia.co.uk/export-council/exporting
