A new series of USB 2.0 transceivers is available from American Fibertek Inc. The USB 2.0 Series allows any USB 2.0 device to be transmitted through a fibre cable network and meet longer distance requirements, the makers say.ย These distances will certify transmission of up to one kilometre on a multimode fiber and up to ten kilometres on a single mode fibre.

The AFI USB 2.0 Series provides installers with a way of incorporating USB devices into a video system. The system is available in module format for field use or rack card for control rooms and is compatible with multimode or single mode optics.
