Derbyshire’s cricket camera

by Mark Rowe

During the 2016 county cricket season, members and other spectators at Derbyshire county cricket club have seen the latest piece in its ground redevelopment jigsaw. The OKI Business and Media Centre will house written and broadcast media. The £2m four-storey complex has two floors of office space as well as a media floor which will meet international cricket media requirements.

Cameras, from Hikvision, and intruder alarms on the building have been installed by a local family firm, Class A Alarms. The firm begun in 1983 by Brian Gurnett with a desk built into a fitted wardrobe at home, recently moved from its Belper base to bigger premises in Denby.

Derbyshire CCC Chief Executive, Simon Storey said: “I am convinced that the improvements underway will significantly improve the experience of everyone who visits The 3aaa County Ground. I also know that the ground will be safer, more secure and more comfortable as a result of these improvements.”
