HD camera from Robert Dyas

by Mark Rowe

EZVIZ Inc., the home security brand, launched a HD Outdoor Security Camera, on sale for £69.99 from the electrical and DIY retailer Robert Dyas.

Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and IFTTT devices, the outdoor camera allows users access to live footage by using their voice. Or, footage can be accessed and managed via the EZVIZ app as well as allowing users to talk to the caller with an internal waterproof mic offering audio pick-up within five metres. Within the app, users can also set schedules, create detection areas and review and share previous footage.

The outdoor camera is mounted to a wall and linked with the app where notifications can be turned on to alert of any potential intruders from wherever the user may be. Also, thanks to the dual antennas, the product has wireless transmission indoors or outdoors, with a connection to and from the Wi-Fi router. This means that it removes the potential of video lagging, the security firm says, regardless of the weather.

With its IP66 enclosure rating, the outdoor camera is protected against rain, snow and other harsh weather and, with the integration of the infrared technology, footage can be seen clearly in whatever level of light it is claimed. The camera comes with a cardan shaft rotation, offering various angles as for both ceiling and wall-mounted installation. All instructions are available on the EZVIZ app and users have to ensure it’s connected to the WiFi to complete the setup process.

The camera itself can support up to a 256GB MicroSD card for local storage or users can sign up to the EZVIZ Cloud storage system which is subject to subscriptions tariffs. Users can also link to EZVIZ alarm sensors via the app to ensure footage begins when a sensor is triggered to capture the incident from all angles. What’s in the box:

1x EZVIZ Full HD Wi-Fi Outdoor Smart Home Security Camera
1x Power Adapter with 7.5 Meters total Power Cable
1x Mounting/Drill Template
