Connex Group, a security firm in Belgium, have deployed control room furniture manufacturer Winsted to equip the group’s new monitoring room at the Connex Center, the group’s site in Edingen, Belgium.
The Connex Center, an alarm receiving centre and remote support centre is operational 24-365 securing streets and properties nationally. The ability of staff to operate effectively in the control room is a major factor influencing the response time and outcome within incidents and hence the effectiveness of the group, so an ergonomic solution was a must.
Winsted were commissioned ahead of rival bids. Darren Allen, from Winsted’s Business Development team says that consoles from the EnVision range were specified to provide an ergonomically correct environment, and for the consoles to compliment the modern décor of the centre, whilst providing a modular solution which allows for expansion or changes in configuration to meet operational needs.
A bespoke three person ‘island’ control console based on the EnVision design, with a further two workstations providing an extra five comfortable operator positions complete with storage were designed, made and installed by Winsted’s European office. The furniture finished in a ‘non-reflective’ graphite marmoleum matched the colour scheme of the room, whcih with the black and silver of the framework makes the completed room feel spacious, light and airy.
