Predator Steel

by Mark Rowe

The CCTV manufacturer, 360 Vision Technology, has released a new stainless steel Predator camera, to join the range of Predator ruggedized high-speed PTZ cameras.

Featuring a compact housing made from anti-corrosive polished 316L stainless steel, the new Predator Steel is now supplied as standard with Sony STARVIS back-illuminated CMOS image sensors. STARVIS delivers picture quality down to starlight and near infrared, the makers say.

Designed to withstand the toughest of operational environments, the product is targeted to bring the advantages of extreme temperature (minus 40 degrees C to 60 degrees C) performance to the market, but at a fraction of the cost of other stainless steel PTZ camera units, it is claimed.

Now with ‘Hybrid’ analogue and HD imaging as standard, 360 Vision’s future proof ‘patent pending’ Hybrid technology means that when a traditional surveillance installation moves to HD infrastructure, standard analogue 4:3 images (in HD quality) can be replaced with Full HD 1080p widescreen images – at the flick of a switch and with no other equipment required. With a 30x optical zoom with Auto Focus, Predator Steel is the makers say suitable for installation within petrochemical, aviation, oil and gas, port, seafront promenade, industrial plant and marine surveillance applications. For zero light operation, the camera is available with 360 Vision’s new Sirius IR, and IR/white light LED illuminators. Sirius LED illuminators offer up to 400m IR viewing range, or up to 250m using the combined infra-red and white light LED model. Some 360 pre-sets, 16 tours and multiple control protocols are built in.

Mark Rees, Business Development Director at 360 Vision, says: “The new and improved stainless steel IP68 rated Predator Steel brings a compact stainless steel PTZ camera solution to installers and end-users at a very competitive price, and is ideal for rugged camera applications within a wide range of hazardous environments. In addition to great performance, Predator Steel weighs just 14Kg and is backed by 360 Vision’s three year warranty, and first-class sales and after-sales technical support.”
